On My Honor, I Will
THE Blueprint for INTEGRITY-DRIVEN® Leadership
THE Blueprint for INTEGRITY-DRIVEN® Leadership
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
"The central need of our times is to find the road we lost or abandoned, and to recover the values we have rejected in favor or every man for himself in pursuit of egoistic goals."
—Laslow Nagy, Former Secretary General World Organization of the Scout Movement
In 1992, Randy Pennington co-authored a book that was years ahead of its time. Before Enron, WorldCom, or any of the other corporate scandals. Before the personal character struggles of elected officials, CEO's, and sports figures. Before it all, Randy Pennington was making the connection between integrity, trust, and success.
On My Honor, I Will: How One Simple Oath Can Lead You to Success in Business was praised by leaders as diverse as Stephen Covey, Ph.D., Zig Ziglar, and President Gerald Ford. Ford called the book, "a blueprint on how leaders became successful following the path of honor and integrity."
Fifteen years later, Randy Pennington is back to update his message for today's and tomorrow's leaders. Red Honor Press is privileged to announce its partnership with Randy Pennington to publish On My Honor, I Will: THE Blueprint for INTEGRITY-DRIVEN® Leadership (Red Honor; 2008 Cloth).
So why release an updated work today?
Pennington believes that a leader's ability to build and sustain personal credibility and trust is more important now than ever. He says, "Trust is the lubricant that makes relationships work. And in today's flat-economy world where change is a constant, the ability to build relationships is a determining factor in individual and organizational success." Research cited by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) supports this theory: Only 15% of an individual's career success is based on expertise; 85% is based on interpersonal skills.
Dr. Robert Lee Edmonds, President of Red Honor Ventures, Ltd. says, "Randy Pennington is a recognized leader on the subject of how leaders influence others from a position of honor and integrity. He was writing and speaking on this topic before most of the people in the marketplace today. We are excited to bring this classic concept of using traditional values to drive success into the twenty-first century."
On My Honor, I Will: THE Blueprint for INTEGRITY-DRIVEN® Leadership is being completely updated with new interviews and examples. Readers of previous editions will enjoy seeing how the concepts of honor, duty, and integrity have been updated for a global and diverse world. New readers will find a work that is relevant for their leadership responsibilities in all walks of life. This is not merely a new edition of the author's previous work. It is, for all practical purposes, a new work. Pennington says, "Leadership is not about position. It is about the ability to influence. And the ability to influence others begins with an individual's ability to lead themselves."
